How to choose the correct sunglasses for your face shape

Our eyes are undoubtedly sensitive to direct sunlight that’s the reason it’s important to always have your sunglasses in your handbag, however choosing the correct sunglasses can sometimes be a difficult process. Depending on your face shape your sunglasses should make you look alive and bold, it shouldn’t jet out of your face and make you look weird almost as if you’re trying to pull off a mental look. Below are characteristics of each face shape and their recommended sunglasses style:

Heart shaped: having this face shape means the narrowest part of your face is your jawline, go for frame that are wider on the top than they are at the bottom. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Cat eye
  • Sport
  • Retro square

Square shaped: having this face shape means your jaw, cheekbones and forehead are all wide. Go for something with soft edges. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Round
  • Shield
  • Aviator

Oval shaped: having an oval face shape means your face is long rather than wide, go for big glasses but not too big, here are a few suggestions:

  • Over sized
  • Aviator
  • Retro square

Round shaped: having this shape means wide cheekbones and a narrow forehead go for glasses that are large rectangular and edge glasses as it balances roundness. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Cat eye
  • Square

  1. I have been thinking about getting some sunglasses recently, but every single pair i try on just look weir don me! I now realise why, i need to look for some cat eye shaped ones or some squared ones! Great post xo
